BBM’s team of volunteer lecturers gave awareness-raising presentations to more than 400 students in nine secondary schools and and one elementary school in the 2018/2019 school year. During the Summer break, we’re going to visit several camps in order to talk to the youth about prejudice through the topic of homelessness.
Our targeted group used to be kids above 13 years of age, but this year we’ve met students from lower-grade classes too. We were received quite well, the children showed an attitude of surprising openness toward the raised topics. In addition, a lot of them wanted to join BBM right away as volunteers.
Our team of lecturers has been expended to six members, so we can answer more and more invitations. Since our long-term goal is to unite the students, teachers and parents who participate in our ’plus one sandwich’ project in a huge community, we’re already preparing for the next school year with personal and online programmes, games and challenges.
It’s good to look back at what we’ve achieved so far and it’s good to look forward to the future. We’d like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for all the invitations, confidence and feedback, all of which we regard as a confirmation that the programme answers a real demand. And we’d also like to thank our volunteers for their effort.
